Great Minnesota place! Northwoods themed. Of course, many walleye dishes but also, lots of wild rice dishes, chicken pot pies, burgers and even tater tot hot dish. Parking can be a challenge but so worth it!

The food was great. I had the wild rice bowl with walleye, and the bread pudding. My friends all had different walleye dishes, and we were all very pleased. The service was perfect, and the atmosphere was as advertised (a tavern with a good twist) and very comfortable.We'll eat here again!

Good nachos and a wide variety of walleye themed dishes. Service was good and there was a fairly traditional American beer variety. More options for potatoes than I've ever seen at a restaurant. All in all, a worthwhile place to eat if you're in the area.

The bartender, Andrew, was awesome! You would think he was the owner for how well he knew everyone, and was super attentive! Gave great food suggestions, and was very personable. Nice people in the bar, too!

My Bride and I went there on 7/14/18 at around 6:30 pm. and did not have to wait for a table but the place was packed. I had the Northwoods Walleye Dinner with wild rice and asparagus. It was fantastic! If you want to experience a walleye dinner Minnesota Style try this. Great Atmosphere with a up north feel. The service was fantastic. My bride had the traditional walleye entree and was as happy as I was. She is a picky eater.

An enjoyable tavern and grill very convenient to downtown Saint Paul and the many businesses on Grand Ave; it even has its own parking spaces. Their motto is “Try a Taste of the Northwoods†and their menu is loaded with everything from Appetizers & Small Plates to Pasta, Burgers and Entrees, with a particular emphasis on Walleye. Service is fast, efficient and friendly.

Quaint interior, excellent staff, and great tastes. I visited for a private event and the food and drink were excellent, I highly recommend their walleye! The bar also has a good selection of beers including some local beers. Staff were very kind and attentive. I will definitely be back again soon

Was in town for business and this place came up as a great spot for walleye. Had a very helpful server, Karen. Gave us some amazing recommendations - the walleye sampler, the famous sandwich, and the Mac-n-cheese. Great time and great food! Thanks Karen!!

I met a friend during Happy hour and the bar has a neighborhood feel to it. Nice because We could chat and not feel rushed and wasn't super loud. We both got salads. She got the taco said which she said was tasty. I got the Tavern Fresh Salad which was so good! It has toppings you don't normally see on a salad, I definitely recommend it.

They have great walleye fish fillets here. Also a full menu of other things and a full bar. Has a lake cottage sort of feel, with deer antler chandelier knotty pine (fake) wall treatments. Booths and tables are available. Front entrance has 1 step to get in. Handicap entrance better from the rear alley entrance. Parking can be scarce often.

I come to this special place often as I enjoy the good mood that is exist in this place. The staff is very loving and professional. The service is exceptionally quick. Needless to say, the food you eat is perfect. I ate there many times and I was always satisfied. The price is decent. I recommend this place to to all.

Very good American tavern food. Great service. I recommend the walleye sandwich and make sure to get the jalapeno tartar with it. Also love the chicken pot pie or the black and blue burger.

I was visiting from Florida and I felt like I got a real Minneapolis experience. We ordered the local fish, chicken nachos and something else. This was over a week ago I'm trying to remember. Anyways, it had a great atmosphere with antler chandeliers, friendly staff and that local vibe. I highly recommend.

Went here for one reason and one reason only. Walleye. October 1. Service excellent. Beer awesome. Customers nice. Walleye delicious. Two walleye for I think under 25 dollars, fried perfectly. Order potato cakes too.
